Every day, we bring together golf, food and beverages, events, and entertainment into one experience that keeps guests coming back.\n\nWe are looking for a Director of Instruction who can build and lead Topgolf's golf instruction platform at their venue, driving lesson volume, developing Lead Instructors, and creating programming that keeps guests coming back to grow their game.\n\nIf you are passionate about golf, people, and performance, this is your stage.\n\nThe Director of Instruction leads all golf instruction programming at the venue, overseeing individual and group lessons, leagues, tournaments, player development series, and summer camps. This role is responsible for growing the instruction platform through exceptional teaching, community outreach, and partnership with the events team.\n\nThe Director of Instruction also manages and develops Lead Instructors, oversees club fitting and equipment maintenance, manages the golf services budget, and leverages swing analysis technology and teaching aids to deliver best-in-class learning experiences.\n\nAs a leader of a high-energy, guest-facing venue, this role requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with availability to work extended hours during peak periods, special events, and high-volume seasons.
Responsibilities
Coordinate, schedule, and deliver individual and group golf lessons for guests of all skill levelsUtilize swing analysis technology, launch monitors, and teaching aids in all instruction programsWalk the tee line during peak times to market the instruction platform and offer impromptu lessonsDirect tournaments, leagues, summer camps, and player development series at the venueGrow the golf instruction program through marketing, community outreach, and partnershipsWork with the events team to promote and integrate lessons into event programmingSupervise information requests related to lesson schedules and instructional seriesDevelop and implement player development series ideas that drive engagement and repeat visitsManage and develop coaching and sales skills in Lead InstructorsBuild a team of instructors who deliver consistent, high-quality guest experiencesHold instructors accountable for lesson quality, scheduling, and guest satisfactionManage club fitting, club repair, and general maintenance of golf equipmentMaintain inventory of golf services tools, technology, and teaching aidsMeet budgetary requirements for the golf services programRequirements
2–3 years of experience teaching golf lessons across multiple skill levelsPGA Membership; Class A Certification preferredExperience managing an independent golf lesson programFamiliarity with swing analysis technology and launch monitor technologyMust be 21 years of age or older as required by state or local lawProven record of accomplishment of successful golf instructionExceptional coaching ability and strong interpersonal skillsExcellent communication, time management, and organizational skillsAbility to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of timeAvailability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysNice-to-haves
