About the Role
Mechanical GreenskeeperThe Mechanical Greenskeeper supports the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of the Lake Almanor Country Club golf course. This hands-on position combines golf course maintenance duties with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of turf equipment, utility vehicles, small engines, and related machinery.The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to assist with all aspects of golf course maintenance. This position requires early-morning, weekend, and holiday availability during the golf season.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance and RepairInspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, aerators, sprayers, blowers, chainsaws, and other small-engine equipment.Perform routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, belt adjustment, battery service, tire repair, and fluid checks.Inspect and maintain hydraulic, electrical, fuel, cooling, braking, and mechanical systems.Sharpen, grind, adjust, and maintain mower reels, bedknives, rotary blades, and other cutting equipment.Maintain accurate equipment service, repair, inspection, and parts records.Monitor equipment hours and establish preventive-maintenance schedules in coordination with the Golf Course Superintendent.Identify needed parts, supplies, and repairs and obtain approval before placing orders or arranging outside service.Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used parts, fluids, tools, and supplies.Keep the maintenance shop, fuel-storage areas, tools, and workspaces clean, secure, and compliant with applicable safety requirements.Remove unsafe equipment from service and promptly notify the Golf Course Superintendent.Assist with winterization, seasonal start-up, and storage of golf course equipment.Golf Course MaintenanceOperate greens, tees, fairway, rough, and rotary mowers.Mow, roll, aerate, top-d
