This role is responsible for the meticulous planning, implementation, and management of all golf course maintenance operations, ensuring championship-level playing conditions year-round. You will oversee a team of groundskeepers, manage the course budget, implement advanced agronomic practices, and ensure the aesthetic beauty and playability of the course. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive agronomic plans for turfgrass management, including mowing, fertilization, and pest/disease control. Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all golf course irrigation systems. Manage course construction and renovation projects as needed. Supervise, train, and schedule a team of maintenance staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Develop and manage the annual golf course maintenance budget, controlling costs and ensuring efficient resource allocation. Implement and maintain integrated pest management (IPM) programs. Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and best management practices. Operate and maintain all maintenance equipment safely and efficiently. Collaborate with the Golf Professional and Clubhouse management to meet the needs of the membership. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, expenditures, and staff performance. Requirements Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field is required. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent on a reputable golf course. Class 'A' certification from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) is highly preferred. Extensive knowledge of turfgrass physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management. Proven experience in irrigation system management and water conservation techniques. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills. Proficiency in budget management and financial planning. Experience with golf course maintenance equipment operation and repair.
