<p>Assistant Golf Professional<br />Shirkey Golf Course | Richmond, MO<br />About the Course<br />Shirkey Golf Course is a challenging, championship-style, semi-private 18-hole course located<br />in Richmond, MO, a short distance from Kansas City at Highways 210 and 13. Designed by<br />Chet Mendenhall, a founding member of the GCSAA, in 1969, the course has been recognized<br />by Golf Digest as a top public course in the Kansas City area with a 4 ½ star rating. Our par 71<br />course features Zoysia fairways and tee boxes with Bent grass greens, with four sets of tees<br />that stretch from 5500 to 7020 yards. We offer a driving range, pro shop, banquet room, and<br />restaurant, and consistently strive to offer golfers of all abilities a great experience.<br />The Opportunity<br />We are seeking an energetic, service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional to join our team.<br />This is an ideal entry-level role for an individual looking to plant roots in the golf industry. .<br />Essential Responsibilities<br />● Customer Experience: Provide top-tier service in the golf shop, assisting with check-ins,<br />policy interpretation, and general player inquiries.<br />● Operations: Supervise daily golf activities, including the management of part-time<br />seasonal staff and volunteers.<br />● Instruction & Growth: Assist in the execution of the Junior Golf Program and group<br />clinics. Associates who have completed Level 1 of the PGA/LPGA program are eligible to<br />teach individual private lessons.<br />● Tournament Management: Assist with the organization, development, and<br />implementation of club tournaments, corporate outings, and management of weekly men's<br />and women's leagues.<br />● Merchandising: Maintain the golf shop’s professional appearance through effective<br />merchandising, inventory control, and sales.<br />● Facility Care: Ensure the driving range and practice facilities meet our high standards for<br />daily play.<br />Qualifications<br />● Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Rules of Golf and basic business mathematics.<br />● Tech Savvy: Proficiency with modern office procedures and golf management software.<br />● Communication: Excellent verbal and written "Business English" skills.<br />● Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and<br />extended hours during the peak season.<br />● Ambition: A desire to progress within the PGA Associate program or golf industry career<br />path.</p>
<p>Compensation & Benefits<br />● Rate of Pay: $18-$20 per hour.<br />● Benefits: Health insurance reimbursement negotiable and meals while on duty.<br />● Work/Life balance: generally a 40-hour work week, Rotating Weekend and Holiday<br />schedules.<br />● Individual Health Insurance options, paid PGA dues and clothing allowance.<br />● Extra income generated from teaching, Junior Programs and PGA Jr. League<br />● Total Earning Potential: $40,000+ (Inclusive of hourly wage, lesson income, and<br />performance bonuses).<br />● Perks: Access to the driving range, playing privileges on our championship 18-hole course,<br />and the chance to work at an acclaimed, semi-private facility.</p>
