About the Role

Job Summary

The role of Golf Course Assistant Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of every aspect of the golf course, including tees, greens, fairways, bunkers, cart paths and the rough, as well as supervises the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring the course remains free of pest infestations or disease outbreaks.

Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Manages turf maintenanceCompletes frequent disease scoutingCompletes frequent irrigation monitoringHelp promote player satisfaction through quality maintenance and communicationsAssist the Golf Course Superintendent with recommendations with personnel matters such as wages, reviews, warnings, and terminationsOversees the cleanliness of the golf course and club groundsHelps operate this department within all company, county, state and federal regulations and guidelinesMonitor and maintain irrigation systemsHelp schedule and supervise the daily operations of the maintenance crewApply the proper application of pesticides and fertilizersAll other duties as assignedEducation and Experience

Associates degree in turf management preferredAt least five years' experience in turf care preferredSufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needsAbility to read write and speak, and communicate in basic EnglishRestricted Use Pesticide (RUP) certificationKnowledge, Skills, Abilities

Detail oriented and thoroughAbility to perform consistent work to the highest of standardsAbility to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly wayAbility to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guestsKnowledge of pesticide useIntensive knowledge of irrigation, pest/ disease monitoringAbility to lead a team efficiently and effectivelyPhysical Demands

Standing and walking for extended periodsFrequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to perform grounds workLifting, pushing, and pulling materials, tools, and equipment up to 50lbsAbility to operate equipment, including but not limited to mowers, utility vehicles, blowers, trimmers and other grounds machineryWorking Conditions
