About the Role
Our client, a prestigious golf club situated in Fort Worth, Texas, US , is actively recruiting for a seasoned and personable Head Golf Professional. This role is central to the club's commitment to providing an exceptional golfing experience for its members and guests. The Head Golf Professional will be responsible for the overall management of the golf operations, including the pro shop, bag room, and practice facilities, ensuring a seamless and welcoming environment from arrival to departure.
Key duties encompass the supervision and training of golf shop staff, assistant professionals, and outside service personnel. You will develop and implement golf lesson programs, clinics, and on-course instruction for players of all skill levels, with a focus on member retention and satisfaction. The Head Golf Professional will also manage tournament operations, from planning and execution to post-event analysis, ensuring smooth and enjoyable events for participants. This includes coordinating schedules, managing budgets, and overseeing all logistical aspects of club-sanctioned tournaments and member events.
Merchandising and inventory management for the golf shop are critical components of this role, requiring keen business acumen to drive sales and maintain optimal stock levels. You will cultivate strong relationships with members, providing personalized service and acting as a brand ambassador for the club. Responsibilities also include managing the club's fleet of golf carts, ensuring they are well-maintained and readily available. Collaboration with the golf course superintendent and other club departments to uphold the highest standards of service and facility presentation is essential. The Head Golf Professional will play a key role in attracting new members and promoting golf at the club.
A PGM (Professional Golf Management) degree or equivalent experience is highly preferred. PGA/LPGA Class A certification is required. A minimum of 7 years of experience in golf operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or Head Professional role, is necessary. Proven track record in teaching, tournament operations, and retail management is essential. Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills are paramount. Proficiency in golf operations software (e.g., Jonas, Clubessential) and point-of-sale systems is required.
