CLUB INFORMATION:
Founded in 1900, the Lancaster Country Club is a highly ranked Platinum Club of America and is one of the finest private clubs in all of Pennsylvania. Facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course, 9-hole golf course, 9 tennis courts, 3 platform tennis courts, aquatic, and fitness facilities, along with two separate dining establishments located in both our Clubhouse and Activities Pavilion. We are committed to offering the best services for our 500 members, their families, and their guests in an atmosphere of warm congeniality.
LCC was recently the host of the 2024 U.S. Women's Open Championship, which was incredibly successful and brought tremendous accolades to the club. The club has become more family-oriented, featuring events and amenities for every demographic while focusing on ever increasing programs for youth, including a summer camp, swim team, youth social events as well as extensive junior golf and tennis programs.
POSITION PROFILE:
The Banquet Captain oversees all aspects of a banquet or event (in conjunction with the Food & Beverage Managers), including set-up, food presentation, serving, and cleanup while focusing on detail and quality presentation and customer service in line with the expectations of LCC standards. Banquet Captains are also responsible, with the help of Food and Beverage Managers, for training and coaching of banquet staff.
A Banquet Captain must be comfortable communicating directly with multiple people. They must demonstrate the ability to take on several tasks simultaneously, while delegating to their banquet team.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY:
Maintains a positive attitude.Welcoming guests and assisting with seating arrangements.Coordinating food & beverage orders by working closely with kitchen and floor staff.Respectful and courteous to all members, guests, vendors, and co-workers.Reads over the Banquet Event Order (BEO) for each event and is responsible for knowing and understanding all vital information for the event.May act as an event/banquet opener or closer in the absence of a manager.Meets with the point of contact directly before event and reviews BEO timeline to ensure effective and accurate communication in the absence of a manager.Acts as main liaison between the point of contact and LCC operations in the absence of a manager.Ensures all functions are set and staff is prepared and organized before the required time listed on the BEO.Assists the F&B managers with creating and assigning job tasks, leading daily pre-shift lineups, and inspecting setups.Holds staff members accountable for work delegated and continues to keep staff members on task and active during work shifts.Addressing on-site customer complaints and concerns appropriately.Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment.Ensuring that all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED.Degree in hospitality or similar preferred.Previous supervisory experience preferred.Minimum of one year of catering and events experience.Demonstrate excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.Display a courteous and friendly attitude.Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.Demonstrate critical leadership skills and the ability to manage a group of team members.Basic audio-visual knowledge or ability to learn projector and multi-screen setups, microphone and audio system setups and adjustments.Basic computer proficiency: Email, Word, Outlook, Point of Sale Systems.Willing and able to work full-time, and available to work weekends and holidays.Must be physically able to move large equipment and be on their feet for extended periods of time.Job Type: Full-time
