Irrigation Technician

Karsten Golf Club is seeking a dedicated Irrigation Technician / Irrigation Specialist to manage and optimize our newly installed (2024) irrigation system. This position plays a critical role in turf performance, water management, and daily course conditioning. Irrigation at Karsten is not a secondary task — it is a specialized technical position central to agronomic success. The selected candidate will oversee programming, troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and long-term performance of a modern irrigation infrastructure. System Infrastructure • HDPE mainline and lateral piping (new 2024) • Rain Bird central control and field components • Watertronics pump station and booster pump • Modern valve-in-head system throughout Key Responsibilities • Program and adjust irrigation scheduling to support turf health and superintendent directives • Diagnose and repair heads, valves, wiring, decoders, solenoids, and hydraulic issues • Monitor and maintain pump station performance • Conduct regular system audits to ensure uniform coverage and efficiency • Manage parts inventory and coordinate repairs proactively • Assist with seasonal startup, winterization, and capital improvements • Maintain accurate logs of water use and system adjustments
