Golf Course Superintendent

The City of Vandalia is looking for an experienced, hands-on Golf Course Superintendent to join our Parks & Recreation team. If you take pride in creating exceptional playing conditions, enjoy working outdoors, and know how to lead a team while keeping a golf course looking and performing its best, this could be a great fit.

As the Golf Course Superintendent, you’ll oversee the day-to-day maintenance and care of the City’s municipal golf course. You’ll lead golf maintenance staff, manage turf and grounds care, oversee irrigation and course equipment, coordinate projects and seasonal maintenance, and help manage the operating and capital budgets needed to keep the course in top condition.

Candidates must possess one of the following combinations of education and experience: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four or more years of related experience or training; or An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position.

Candidates must also: -Possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license. -Remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance plan. -Possess a commercial pesticide applicator license.

Golf Course Superintendent certification is preferred.
