About the Role
Oliphant Golf Management is currently looking for part-time pro shop employees at their Toledo golf course. Qualified individuals will preferably have experience in retail, money handling, and customer service. Previous experience in a golf course setting is helpful but not required. Availability to work weekday mornings and afternoons is vital. Approx. 30 hours a week.
Experience Required
Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a golf course or hospitality environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.Ability to handle cash, process transactions, and use point-of-sale systems. Knowledge of golf course operations, including tee time scheduling, cart services, and basic golf etiquette, is a plus.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, as the golf course operates year-round.
Essential Responsibilities
Tee Sheet Management: Assist with managing tee times, ensuring proper scheduling and accommodating walk-ins or changes as needed.Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with a positive, professional attitude, answering questions, providing course information, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.Merchandise Sales: Maintain a well-organized and attractive pro shop, assisting with the selection and sale of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.Event Support: Assist with the coordination and execution of golf tournaments, special events, and leagues, ensuring smooth operations.Cart Operations: Oversee the rental of golf carts, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness. Assist with the dispatching and return of carts.Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages to customers, ensuring prompt and courteous service. Manage the food and beverage ordering process.Cash Handling: Process transactions accurately, handle cash, credit cards, and provide change as required. Maintain a balanced cash register at the end of the shift.General Facility Maintenance: Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pro shop, cart barn, and surrounding areas.Team Collaboration: Work with other staff members to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the facility.

Detwiler Park Golf Course, designed by the legendary Toledo-native architect Arthur Hills in 1971, spans 177 acres in Toledo, Ohio with views of Maumee Bay. Its modern layout features expansive fairways, plush grass, and gentle slopes, providing a challenging yet enjoyable experience. With four sets of tees, Detwiler accommodates players of all skill levels.
Ottawa Park Golf Course is a municipal facility located in Toledo, Ohio It was built in 1899 and redesigned in 1977 by Arthur Hills, it is the oldest public golf course west of New York City. Ottawa Park continues to grow its presence in the area and with its rich history, is a destination for those traveling.

Job Summary:
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $13.00 per hour, DOE
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Mornings, Afternoons, and Weekends as needed
