Position: Clubhouse Manager or Clubhouse Manager & Chef Couple, Hale Golf Club, Cheshire Full Job DescriptionHale Golf Club is seeking experienced hospitality professionals and is open to two alternative live‑in roles.About Hale Golf ClubFounded in 1903, Hale Golf Club is a prestigious private 9‑hole golf club with approximately 500 members, located in the affluent area of South Trafford, about ten miles south of Manchester city centre. The club is renowned for the quality of its course and its scenic setting beside the River Bollin. The clubhouse has a reputation for excellent food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.The OpportunityHale Golf Club is seeking experienced hospitality professionals for either of the following two roles:Option 1 – Clubhouse ManagerThis is a hands‑on, live‑in position, where the Clubhouse Manager is responsible for the overall day‑to‑day management of the clubhouse, overseeing front‑of‑house service, kitchen and bar operations, staffing, budgets, compliance, and member liaison.Providing strong, hands‑on leadership to clubhouse staff, including recruitment, training, and performance managementManaging bar and front‑of‑house operations, ensuring licensing, health & safety, and operational complianceOverseeing catering operations in partnership with a separately appointed Head ChefManaging budgets, controlling costs, and overseeing supplier and contractor relationshipsBuilding positive relationships with members, visitors, and staffAn understanding of a private members’ golf club setting (advantageous but not essential)Committed to delivering a welcoming, high‑quality clubhouse experience with a flexible approach including weekends and eveningsOption 2 – Clubhouse Manager & Chef CoupleApplications are invited from ambitious, proactive couples to operate a traditional Clubhouse Manager & Chef model, taking full responsibility for the clubhouse, bar, and catering operations in a live‑in position.Clubhouse Manager responsibilities as aboveChef Partner: deliver high‑quality, home‑cooked food with excellent presentationProvide catering from bar snacks and lunch menus to post‑match and evening mealsPrepare multi‑course dinners for social functions and formal events, including up to 100 covers; manage menus and orderingWhat We Are Looking For Experience in hospitality, golf club, or similar member‑focused environmentsStrong interpersonal, organisational, and customer service skillsCommercial awareness and attention to detailProfessional, friendly, and approachable mannerFlexibility to meet the operational needs of the club, including evenings and weekendsWhat We Offer Accommodation & Remuneration PackageLive‑in accommodation provided in a three‑bedroom, unfurnished cottageLoyal membership and supportive club cultureOpportunity to shape and develop the clubhouse hospitality offerCompetitive salary, reflecting experience and responsibilitiesCourtesy of the courseHow To ApplyPlease submit a CV and covering letter, clearly stating whether you are applying for the Clubhouse Manager role or the Clubhouse Manager & Chef Couple arrangement, to: houseb.Closing date for applications: 30th April 2026.
