About the Role
The Beverage Cart Attendant is a visible, on-course representative of the Mistwood Golf Club brand, responsible for delivering food, beverages, and attentive, friendly service to golfers throughout their round. This role requires safely operating a beverage cart across the golf course, maintaining accurate inventory and cash handling, and providing hospitality that enhances the guest experience without disrupting the pace of play.
Guest Service & Sales
Delivers each step of service to ensure the utmost golfer satisfaction
Builds genuine rapport with golfers
Maintains thorough knowledge of menu and drink offerings, including packaging, presentation, and pricing
Uses suggestive selling and upselling techniques effectively
Responds promptly to golfer needs without being intrusive on their game
Communicates golfer issues or concerns to management in a timely manner
Contributes to the promotion and protection of the Mistwood Golf Club brand
Cart Operations & Inventory
Sets up the assigned beverage cart with the appropriate beverages and snacks as directed by management
Restocks the cart with beverages, ice, snacks, and supplies throughout the shift as needed
Assists with timely delivery of beverages and snacks to other carts or areas as needed
Operates the beverage cart safely on cart paths and course terrain, including wet, uneven, or sloped conditions
Completes all cart station set-up and breakdown duties thoroughly
Keeps the cart fueled, clean, and properly stored at the end of each shift
Creates and maintains accurate inventory records of beverages and snacks issued and returned each shift
Safety, Compliance & Sanitation
Accurately operates the POS system and related technology
Follows responsible alcohol service policies, including checking identification and recognizing signs of intoxication
Follows cash handling and tip reporting procedures
Upholds all security, safety, and sanitation standards
Adheres to appearance and uniform guidelines
Maintains show-quality standards at all times
Teamwork & Professionalism
Displays a positive attitude toward golfers, staff, and managers
Acts as a role model for other staff
Helps fellow team members whenever necessary
Coordinates with golf operations, pro shop, and F&B staff to keep the golf course running smoothly
Arrives on time and ready to perform all required duties for every shift
Qualifications & Requirements
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol, per applicable state and local law
Required ServSafe Food Handler certification per the state of Illinois
Required BASSET and/or TIPS responsible alcohol service certification per the state of Illinois
Required Food Allergen certification per the state of Illinois
Valid driver's license in good standing, required to operate the beverage cart
Comfortable operating a motorized cart on outdoor terrain, including wet or uneven surfaces
Able to communicate effectively in English with golfers, managers, and staff
Basic math proficiency for accurate POS transactions
Flexible availability, including early mornings, afternoons, early evenings, and weekends a must
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Regularly lifts and transports up to 50 lbs (beverage cases, ice, supplies, etc.)
Extensive standing, walking, and navigating stairs and uneven terrain throughout the shift
Frequently reaches, bends, and stoops
Works outdoors for the full shift, exposed to sun, heat, humidity, cold, and other seasonal weather conditions
May work extended shifts of 6+ hours, or as business dictates
Potential job hazards include slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts, and strains
