This Equipment Mechanic position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of golf course equipment, ensuring all machinery operates efficiently to maintain the highest quality playing conditions across the district's three golf courses. This role involves preventative maintenance, diagnostics, major repairs, and technical adjustments for specialized turf maintenance equipment.

What You'll Do
Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and major overhauls on golf course equipment, including gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered machinery.
Conduct daily field inspections of mowers and equipment to ensure proper operation and safety.
Coordinate with the Golf Maintenance Supervisor and Manager to schedule equipment maintenance, repairs, and utilization of specialized turf maintenance machinery.
Prioritize repairs and minimize downtime by tracking and managing repair orders in the fleet management system.
Order and track parts inventory for equipment repairs, ensuring accurate documentation in the fleet management system.
Train equipment operators on the safe and proper use, maintenance, and care of golf course machinery.
Maintain tools, shop equipment, and workspaces in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
Perform specialized adjustments on reel mowers to ensure optimal cut quality for greens, tees, and fairways.
Operate and test equipment periodically to verify functionality and occasionally assist with general golf course maintenance.
Evaluate equipment conditions and recommend replacements when necessary.
Foster a work environment that promotes safe work habits, become familiar with safety rules and procedures, keep work areas clean, and report on any unsafe conditions and incidents.
Maintain a supportive working environment and demonstrate a desire to succeed the expectations of internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as required.
