Duties:
Calibrates the spraying equipmentApplies and stores pesticides in accordance with regulationsMaintains knowledge of pesticides in regards to mode of action and safety precautionsMaintains neat and accurate records of all pesticide applicationsMaintains all spraying equipment and ensures that the mixing areas are clean and neatParticipates in morning set-up of the golf course, monitor irrigation system and pump stationMaintenance and repair of irrigation systemScouts the golf course on a regular basis for insect, weed, and disease problems. Diagnose any observations and take corrective action after discussion with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent’sAssist with wilt watch for bentgrass greensAssist with mowing and maintenance of all turf grass areas on the golf courseAct as lead crew member on special projects as neededOther duties as assigned
Safety
Performs job responsibilities and operates equipment according to the company safety and training programsUses personal protective equipment as trained and requiredApplies the “5S System” to the continued maintenance of a clean and safe work environment for all employees and guestsReports safety or hazard concerns to managementReports any on the job injury to managementReport equipment issues to Equipment Manager immediately.Takes personal responsibility for safety every day
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of two years previous experience in golf course maintenanceDesire minimum one year experience in pesticide applicationMust be proficient in calibration of sprayers/spreadersMust have or be able to obtain Georgia Pesticide Applicator’s License within six months of hireAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Desire Turf Management Degree
