About the Role

The historic Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach, MN (located 10 minutes west of Wayzata) is currently hiring for a full-time Bar Supervisor position. Estimate of 35 – 40 hours per week, with no exceedingly late nights or early mornings. We are looking for a motivated individual who is dedicated to their craft, knows every aspect of elevated bar service, as well as what presence and leadership truly means. This is a chance to flex creatively and help build a bar program from the ground up, one that suits the needs of our members and is practical in meeting the demands of our business.

Your availability should be open enough to cover high-demand shifts on a weekly basis, as well as crucial training time, scheduled cleaning and maintenance, and periodic inventory days. It will also be within your purview to create exciting daily and weekly specials, seasonal drink menus, and promotions that help drive business.

Preferred candidates for this position will have a minimum of 3 years of bar supervisory experience, with total bar experience of 7 years or more, and solid references. Having experience with restaurant and bar openings is a definite plus. This is a tips-eligible position that is backed by a competitive hourly wage of $25.00, an automatic service charge on all tabs, and a fairly generous clientele. The Bar Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Member Bar, ensuring exceptional service standards, efficient operations, and a welcoming member experience. This position provides leadership to the bartending team through training, coaching, and performance management while maintaining accountability for inventory control, beverage program execution, and facility standards. The Bar Supervisor serves as a key ambassador of the Club's hospitality culture and is committed to delivering outstanding service to members and guests.

Responsible for opening and closing of the Member bar.

Responsible for initial and ongoing Bartender training and evaluation.

Responsible for all inventory management related to the Member bar.

Responsible for creating and finalizing seasonal drink menus in collaboration with staff and management.

Responsible for overall bar functionality and maintenance tracking.

Responsible for revising and implementing bar cleaning and stocking procedures.

Assures that all service standards are being met and maintained.

Mixes and serves alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely and responsible manner.

Responsible for maintaining bar and bar tables in a clean and orderly condition.

Responsible for restocking liquor, beer and wines according to restock list.

Prepares drinks for service staff in a timely manner.

Able to possess and utilize knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.

Responsible for overall cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas

Remain productive throughout their shift, assisting in the dining room if requested.

Must possess ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain an active presence throughout service including bending, kneeling, stooping, carrying trays, and using stairs.

Must serve members and guests graciously and with respect.

Any other duties deemed appropriate and imperative by management.

Minimum Of 3 Years Of Bar Supervisory Experience

Minimum of 7 years of total bar experience

Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages

Strong leadership, training, and team development skills with the ability to coach staff and uphold service standards.

Expertise in bar operations, inventory management, beverage program execution, and responsible alcohol service.

Exceptional hospitality, communication, and relationship-building skills with a commitment to delivering outstanding member and guest experiences.

Work in a busy and sometimes loud back-of-the-house environment.
