About the Role
OverviewWedges & Woods is building a professional instructional team-not simply renting lesson space. Every instructor must be approved by Wade Wilson, PGA, Director of Golf, and Wedges & Woods management before teaching on the property.Instructor RequirementsIndependent contractors must:Complete the application and interview process.Demonstrate professional teaching knowledge and customer-service skills.Maintain required certifications, continuing education and liability insurance.Follow Wedges & Woods policies, dress standards and conduct expectations.Maintain a dependable teaching schedule.Report directly to the Director of Golf for all instructional matters.Lesson OperationsAll lessons must be scheduled and processed through Wedges & Woods.Wedges & Woods will collect all customer payments.Contractors will be paid weekly by direct deposit only.Contractors will receive a Form 1099-NEC when required.Instructors may not collect private payments or conduct unauthorized lessons.Lesson prices, packages, discounts and promotions require approval.Lessons lasting 45 minutes to one hour include one small bucket of approximately 50-55 range balls.Facility FeeThe standard Wedges & Woods facility fee is 20%-30% of lesson revenue unless a different arrangement is approved in writing.Website ProgramIndependent contractors are encouraged to invest $50 per month to be listed on the Wedges & Woods website.Website benefits may include:Professional instructor profileOnline lesson bookingLocal and national exposurePromotion to the Wedges & Woods customer databaseCredit-card processing fees absorbed by Wedges & WoodsIncreased credibility as part of the instructional teamProfessional StandardsEvery instructor represents Wedges & Woods. Contractors are expected to maintain a professional appearance, provide excellent customer service, respect customers and fellow instructors, care for the facility and support Wedges & Woods programs.Teaching privileges may be suspended or discontinued for policy violations, unprofessional conduct, customer complaints, failure to maintain qualifications or other reasons permitted under the independent contractor agreement and applicable law.Authorization RequiredNo person may teach, appear to teach or accept payment for golf instruction at Wedges & Woods without prior approval from Wade Wilson, PGA, Director of Golf, and/or Wedges & Woods management.Experience RequiredIndependent contractors must meet the following minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Previous experience teaching golf to players of different ages and skill levels.Demonstrated knowledge of golf swing fundamentals, short-game instruction, course management and player development.Strong communication, organization and customer-service skills.Ability to conduct a professional golf lesson evaluation or teaching demonstration.Experience using golf technology, video analysis or launch-monitor systems is preferred.PGA membership, PGA Associate status or recognized golf-instruction certifications are strongly preferred.Track Man, TPI, Swing Catalyst, US Kids Golf or similar certifications are considered an advantage.Equivalent professional golf experience may be considered only with the approval of Wade Wilson, PGA, Director of Golf, and Wedges & Woods management.Essential ResponsibilitiesIndependent contractors teaching golf at Wedges & Woods are responsible for the following:Golf InstructionProvide safe, professional and effective golf instruction.Evaluate each student's ability, goals and physical limitations.Develop appropriate lesson plans and improvement strategies.Use clear communication and avoid allowing students to hit excessive shots without instruction or feedback.Use Track Man and other available technology appropriately when qualified.Begin and end lessons on time.Provide instruction only in approved teaching and practice areas.Scheduling and PaymentsMaintain an accurate and dependable teaching schedule.Process all lesson appointments through the approved Wedges & Woods scheduling system.Ensure all lesson payments are collected by Wedges & Woods.Never accept unauthorized cash, electronic or private payments from customers.Follow approved lesson rates, packages, discounts and promotional offers.Promptly notify Wedges & Woods of cancellations, rescheduling or customer concerns.Customer ServiceWelcome students and provide a positive, professional experience.Treat all customers, employees, contractors and guests with respect.Communicate lesson expectations, pricing and cancellation requirements clearly.Protect the confidentiality of customer information.Respond to customer questions and concerns professionally.Refer unresolved complaints to the Director of Golf or management.Professional StandardsReport directly to Wade Wilson, PGA, Director of Golf, for all instructional matters.Follow Wedges & Woods policies, operating procedures and professional standards.Maintain appropriate…
