About the Role

The General Manager serves as the operating leader of Reems Creek and is responsible for the overall performance, culture, and strategic direction of the property. This position provides leadership across all areas of the club, including golf operations, food and beverage, golf course maintenance coordination, racquet sports, aquatics, sales and marketing, events, customer service, facilities, budgeting, and financial performance.

The role requires a highly engaged leader who can balance operational excellence, financial discipline, team development, and an exceptional member and guest experience.

A primary responsibility is building and leading a strong management team. Department leaders should operate with clear expectations, measurable objectives, and accountability for results while working collaboratively toward the broader goals of Reems Creek. The club's leader is expected to establish a culture centered on professionalism, teamwork, communication, hospitality, and continuous improvement.

Developing employees, strengthening leadership throughout the organization, and creating an environment where individuals take pride and ownership in their responsibilities are essential components of the position.

Strong financial and business management are critical to the success of the role. This includes developing and managing operating budgets, monitoring revenues and expenses, controlling labor and operating costs, evaluating departmental performance, and identifying opportunities for profitable growth. Leadership should maintain a thorough understanding of the property's financial position and use operating results, customer trends, and market conditions to make informed business decisions.

The position also carries responsibility for maintaining high operational and facility standards throughout the property. Golf, dining, racquet sports, aquatics, events, and other amenities should operate as a cohesive club rather than as independent departments. Effective communication and coordination between department leaders are essential to delivering a consistent experience. The overall appearance, cleanliness, organization, condition, and presentation of the property should reflect the standards and reputation Reems Creek strives to maintain.

Visibility and relationship-building are equally important. The club's General Manager should maintain an active presence throughout the property, regularly engaging with members, guests, employees, and department leaders. This provides an opportunity to understand the operation firsthand, recognize areas of success, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.

The position also serves as an important representative of Reems Creek within the surrounding community, developing productive relationships with vendors, business partners, and local organizations.
