Alpine Lake Resort is seeking an energetic, service-oriented Golf Director / Head Golf Professional to lead all aspects of our golf operation. This is an exciting opportunity for a golf director / professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional member and guest experiences while helping grow a thriving golf program at one of West Virginia's premier resort communities.
Nestled in the scenic mountains of northern West Virginia, Alpine Lake Resort features an 18-hole championship golf course, practice facilities, lodging, dining, and a vibrant membership community. We are looking for a leader who can combine operational excellence, teaching expertise, tournament management, and business acumen to elevate our golf experience.
What You'll Do
Oversee all daily golf operations, including the golf shop, tournaments, outings, leagues, and instructional programs.
Deliver exceptional customer service to members, guests, and visitors.
Develop and implement strategies to increase rounds, memberships, merchandise sales, and overall golf revenue.
Manage golf staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Coordinate tournaments, special events, and golf outings from planning through execution.
Provide private lessons, clinics, and player development programs for golfers of all skill levels.
Maintain handicap and tee time systems while ensuring compliance with golf policies and procedures.
Manage golf shop merchandising, inventory, and retail sales.
Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure optimal course playability and member satisfaction.
Assist with marketing initiatives, member engagement, and community outreach programs.
Participate as a member of the Resort leadership team and contribute to the overall success of Alpine Lake Resort.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive golf operations experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
Experience managing tournaments, instructional programs, and golf shop operations.
Knowledge of GHIN handicap systems and golf operations software.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a resort, private club, or destination golf environment.
Budgeting and financial management experience.
Experience with merchandising, inventory control, and retail operations.
Familiarity with Golf Now Retail POS, and Google Workspace.
PGA Class A Professional (or actively pursuing PGA membership with significant progress toward certification). *This is not a requirement*

Compensation
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt management position. Weekend, holiday, and seasonal flexibility is required to support golf operations and special events. This position could also convert to a seasonal role for the right candidate.
