Position Summary
Hampton Golf Club at The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort is entering an exciting new chapter. Currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation led by acclaimed golf course architect Beau Welling, the course will reopen in Fall 2026 as an elevated private club experience aligned with the luxury standards of The King and Prince Resort.
The Golf Course Mechanic plays a critical role in delivering championship-level playing conditions by maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing all golf course maintenance equipment and related assets. This position ensures the reliability, safety, and peak performance of the equipment fleet during renovation and through ongoing private club operations.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who takes pride in precision, preventative maintenance, and supporting a high-performing agronomy team within an elevated resort environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, adjust, and repair gasoline and diesel-powered equipment including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, aerifiers, sprayers, and related turf equipment
Perform preventative maintenance according to manufacturer and Superintendent guidelines
Maintain accurate service records and preventative maintenance schedules
Oversee grinding, sharpening, and adjustment of reels and bedknives to ensure tournament-quality cutting standards
Fabricate, weld, and repair parts as necessary to maintain operational readiness
Manage parts inventory and assist with ordering supplies and replacement components
Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper shop organization
Maintain irrigation pump engines and related mechanical systems as needed
Assist with equipment setup and modifications during and after the renovation project
Support renovation logistics by maintaining heavy equipment used during construction phases
Collaborate closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to align equipment performance with agronomic goals
Qualifications
3 to 5 years of experience as a golf course mechanic or heavy equipment technician preferred
Strong working knowledge of small engine repair, diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and reel grinding
Welding and fabrication experience preferred
Ability to operate all golf course maintenance equipment
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in outdoor conditions typical of coastal Georgia
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Work Environment
