Golf Course Experience Required!
Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club is a 36 hole semi-private country club with an extensive practice facility. The general responsibility of this position is assisting the Golf Course Superintendent in the organizing, planning and overseeing of the maintenance on one of the courses.
The main function of the assistant superintendent is training and overseeing staff members in daily tasks. Tasks must be done according to policies and procedures of Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club with the utmost attention to detail.
Responsibilities also include the following:
Operate and provide training to staff members on all equipment associated with golf course maintenance.
Assign and develop work-efficient schedules to accomplish daily tasks and keep records of such.
Occasionally apply fertilizer and chemicals.
Must consistently monitor turf and general course conditions.
Must give account of daily operation and progress of staff and conditions.
Qualifications:
Education- Turf Management Degree preferred but not required
Must have a High School Diploma
Must have a valid drivers license.
Must have Florida Pesticide License or the ability to attain a license within 90 days of employment.
Must have a basic understanding of fertilizer and chemicals used on golf courses and application abilities.
Must Have minimum 3 years golf course maintenance experience including management of staff
Must be able to perform physical tasks.
Salary and Compensation:
$65,000 - $75,000/year-DOE
