Seasonal Golf Shop Assistant

Sailfish Point Golf Club is seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented Golf Shop Assistant who is passionate about merchandising, hospitality, and providing an exceptional member experience within a premier private club environment.
The Club’s primary season runs from October 15 through May 15.
Director of Golf Mike Demakos brings experience from prestigious clubs including Augusta National Golf Club, Bel-Air Country Club, East Hampton Golf Club, and 17 years at Nantucket Golf Club. He is highly committed to mentoring staff members and helping motivated individuals advance within the golf industry and hospitality profession.
Currently, at least twelve former staff members have gone on to become Head Golf Professionals at clubs such as Sebonack Golf Club, McArthur Golf Club, Floridian National Golf Club, Sage Valley Golf Club, Charlotte Country Club, and Cabot St. Lucia Golf Club.

Under the direction of the Director of Golf and Golf Professional Staff, the Golf Shop Assistant is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the Golf Shop while delivering exceptional service to Club members and guests. This position supports merchandising, tournament operations, inventory management, and overall golf operations while helping maintain Sailfish Point’s high standards of professionalism and hospitality.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide a duties as assigned by the Director of Golf and Golf Professional Staff
Assist with play recording, lesson scheduling, phone communication, and daily member requests
Conduct daily golf shop operations including merchandise sales, folding, steaming, displays, inventory management, and special orders
Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and organization of the Golf Shop and storage areas
Assist with merchandising displays and presentation of retail products
Maintain accurate records of demo clubs, rental clubs, and special orders
Coordinate shipping functions using FedEx, UPS, USPS, and Ship Sticks
Assist with tournament operations, member events, and Club activities
Promote golf shop merchandise and maintain knowledge of product lines and vendors
Assist with inventory management, monthly counts, receiving, and stock organization
Professionally and tactfully communicate Club policies and procedures to members and guests
Work collaboratively with the Golf Professional Staff and Outside Services team to ensure smooth daily operations
Participate in brainstorming sessions and operational meetings to improve golf shop procedures and member experience
Observe and follow all Club safety practices and protocols
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Golf and Golf Professional Staff
