About the Role
TPC San Antonio is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team. This is a key role within our Golf Course Maintenance Department, supporting daily operations on our high-profile, 36-hole property that includes the Oaks Course, host of the Valero Texas Open. The successful candidate will collaborate directly with the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations and will have a clear path for professional growth within the TPC Network.

Learn facility-specific routines and course expectationsSupport seasonal operations including PGA Tour Event (spring) and overseeding (fall)Build rapport with maintenance staff and managementEmbrace high standards in daily course presentation and cultural practicesKey Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills, and Aptitude:
Schedule, train, supervise, and motivate staff to maintain both golf coursesCoordinate daily operations and ensure coverage meets departmental needsAssist with hiring, performance reviews, corrective actions, and terminationsEnforce safety standards and ensure regulatory complianceOversee cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and equipmentManage invoice logs, purchase orders, and budget trackingSupport all record-keeping: applications, weather logs, labor tracking, etc.Participate in implementation of cultural practices, fertilizer, and pesticide applicationsCommunicate effectively with staff and other departments via 2-way radioWear appropriate PPE and lead by example on safety standardsOther tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Golf Course MaintenancePreferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Turf Management or related field preferredCertificate programs considered with relevant experience1–3 years of progressive turf or golf course experienceSupervisory experience preferredKnowledge of golf course operations, agronomics, and equipment useMust be comfortable with warm-season turf and year-round playAbility to perform physical tasks in outdoor conditionsCompensation & Benefits:
