Golf Pro Shop Guest Services
As Georgia's largest public golf resort, Jekyll Island offers three beautiful golf courses, providing players of all skill and experience levels with an outstanding golf experience. With over 80,000 golfers playing our golf courses each year, golf shop guest services assist guests with golf tee times, checking in golfers, selling pro shop merchandise, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
Greets and acknowledges guests when they arrive at the shop, demonstrates exceptional customer service skills and responds to guest inquiries professionally, timely, friendly, and efficiently.Performs opening and closing of the pro shop, operates and reconciles the Point of Sale system, prepares and makes deposits, completes daily reports, and provides basic pro shop security.Completes accurate and timely guest transactions, collects payments using a point-of-sale system, handles money, processes credit and debit cards, makes changes, and processes gift cards.Provides general information and books tee times in a friendly, professional manner; directs callers to appropriate destinations as needed.Provides guests with additional information about Jekyll Island and guest attractions, maintaining knowledge of amenities and ongoing events.Labels and displays merchandise and assists guests with merchandise purchases.Maintains a clean and organized work environment.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
General golf knowledge is required.Experience in golf pro shop preferred.Retail sales experience preferred.Ability to operate a computer, tee reservations, point-of-sale system and count money.Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.Reliable and punctual attendance.Credit and Criminal background checks are required.A valid driver's license will be required to travel between shops, other JIA buildings, and property.Must be 18 years of age.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.Between 25% and 50% of the typical workday will be spent standing, sitting, walking, and repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.Less than 25% of the typical workday will consist of stooping and crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.Ability to read and write and clearly communicate.Ability to perform tasks requiring accuracy, neatness, and thorough work assigned.Subject to work inside and outside with extended periods in outside conditions will be exposed to sun, heat & humidity, cold, and rain.
