To provide the best conditioning possible, we have a very loaded spraying schedule and are looking for someone with experience to help execute and help manage these programs. We have a relatively new John Deere 300G rig as well as a Toro 300G. Greens are sprayed weekly, tees and approaches bi-weekly, fairways monthly, and granular fertilizer applications and timely rough and natural area sprays mixed in there as well. There is also more specific backpack spraying work done throughout the season. With this amount of spraying we would like to add someone to the team to execute these programs.
This position is flexible - One option is it can be a true Spray Technician/IPM Manager title where the schedule is seasonal (March-early November) and can be part or full time, Monday-Friday with early mornings priority, and hourly pay. In this role, the sole responsibility would be to safely & properly carry out sprays and fertilizer applications, keep chem/fert area clean and organized, and take care of basic cleaning and upkeep of spray rig(s).
We would also consider a title of 2nd Assistant, where it would be a full time, year-round salary position. In this role, while the main priority would be spraying and fertilizing, you would also be involved with golf course setup in the mornings, irrigation repair, mowing, and misc. course improvement projects.
Experience Requirements:
Spray and fertilizer application experience preferred - Having the understanding of basic spraying and fertilizing principles and how to troubleshoot issues and perform detailed mixing
Educational Requirements:
Turfgrass Management or related horticulture degree preferred, current Idaho Pesticide License or the ability to obtain one within 90 days
