Fitness Center Attendant
DEPARTMENT: Member Services JOB TITLE: Fitness Center Attendant
REPORTS TO: Member Services Director
JOB TYPE: Non-Exempt
BASIC FUNCTION: Ensures that the Fitness Center is being used only by current members and dependents of Mid-Pacific Country Club, while maintaining an inviting space that is well-stocked, clean, and organized for both the members’ enjoyment as well as the overall operation of the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets all users of the fitness center and has them sign in immediately.
Reviews MPCC Member directory to ensure all attendees are members in good standing and logs any issues for review.
Understands and can answer questions about fitness classes included in membership and personal training orientations offered by Kailua Fitness.
Cleans the fitness center areas and wipes down fitness equipment as often as needed (at least twice per shift).
Restocks towels, antiseptic wipes and other supplies needed.
Walks the restrooms/ locker rooms periodically to spot check for cleanliness. This entails wiping fingerprints off mirrors, ensuring things are neat and tidy, and reporting any issues to Housekeeping.
Assists with special events in other club departments when necessary.
Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Member Services Director, Wellness Director or General Manager.
LICENSE/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
CPR, AED and First Aid certification preferred or will obtain within 90 days of employment.
Locker rooms are gender specific.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment, which is typical of this position.
Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
Frequent repetitive motions (e.g., shoe shining).
Continuous standing and walking.
The environment of the fitness center is warm and humid.
Able to lift, pull or push 30 pounds.
