About the Role
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Golf Mechanic, with directions from the Lead Golf Mechanic and Assistant Director, is responsible for the routine service, maintenance, and repairs of all golf carts and utility carts used by guests and staff to ensure safety and operational readiness. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Equipment and the Lead Golf Mechanic for daily operational tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.Inspect, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair all designated equipment.Assist in maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment.Communicates and coordinates all necessary equipment, maintenance and repairs with Lead Golf Mechanic to ensure efficient production in the field.Record keeping for preventative maintenance and repairs.Coordinates and executes warranty repairs with Lead Golf Mechanic.Progress in learning responsibilities for maintaining an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to support efficient operation of the equipment fleet.Assists in the training of employees for safe and efficient operation of equipment.Be willing to attend training seminars and yearly continuing education.Assist with assigned projects and perform other duties as required within scope of position.Be able to lift 100 lbs.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or EquivalentCompletion of Trade School or a minimum of 1 year working in a trade such as welding, fabrication, mechanic/technician, plumbing, or electrical.Must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to operate a motor vehicle.Golf cart familiarity is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Proficiency in basic repairs with a focus on preventative maintenance.Understanding of gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment, including basic repair and maintenance procedures.Basic understanding of golf and how turf equipment affects the game of golf.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and bending, as well as working outdoors in various weather conditions.Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as email, spreadsheets, and preventive maintenance systems.Ability to perform mathematical calculations, particularly related to fractions and calibrations.Ability to organize work tasks, maintain accurate records, and keep the work area clean.Understanding and prioritizing safety guidelines and procedures related to equipment operation and maintenance.Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to business demands.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly walks, stands, and lifts up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally sits or does computer work.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
