Job Description: PART – TIME GOLF SHOP ASSISTANT

PAY GROUP: TP 16

Summary Of Position

Assists Golf Course Manager and Pro Shop Manager with daily operation of the golf shop to include retail sales and customer service. This is a part-time position which normally works less than 20 hours per week on rotating shifts, including regular weekend hours, and is not eligible for City benefits

Examples Of Work

Essential Duties*

Assists golfers with scheduling tee times, checking in for play, and processing payment through the point-of-sale (POS) system;Monitors and manages course play to ensure proper pace and adherence to tee times;Assists in tournament set up preparation and weekly events;Assists with inventory control of hard and soft goods, including receiving shipments, pricing merchandise, maintaining displays, and processing sales transactions;Assists with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pro shop, including keeping the sales floor and counter areas neat;May assist with golf cart operation and practice facility;Observes safety rules and procedures;

Performs Such Other Duties As May Be Required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of: general knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules, golf facility operations and tournament operations.

Ability to: follow written and oral instructions; operate standard computer software i.e. Word, Excel; establish and maintain effective working rela­tion­ships with other city employees and with the general public; ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; maintain and promote a positive professional image; and maintain Texas driver's license (applicable to job responsibilities) and good driving record.

Acceptable Experience And Training

High School diploma or equivalent and one year related experience.

Certificates And Licenses Required

Must be at least 18 years of age.Valid Texas Driver's License or reliable alternate means of transportation to and from work.Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Seller/Server Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
