The Golf Course Maintenance position is essential for ensuring that the golf course remains in pristine condition, providing an exceptional playing experience for all golfers. This role involves the upkeep and care of the turf, landscaping, and course facilities to maintain aesthetic appeal and functional quality. The successful candidate will work closely with the groundskeeping team to implement maintenance schedules, manage irrigation systems, and address any course-related issues promptly. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or turf management, preferably in a golf course or sports turf environment.Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.Basic knowledge of turfgrass care, irrigation systems, and pesticide application.Physical ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in pesticide application or turf management.Experience with irrigation system installation and repair.Familiarity with golf course maintenance software or scheduling tools.Strong understanding of environmental and safety regulations related to grounds maintenance.Previous experience working on a golf course or similar recreational facility.Responsibilities:
Perform daily mowing, trimming, and edging of greens, fairways, tees, and rough areas to maintain optimal turf conditions.Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and efficient water usage across the course.Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides safely and according to guidelines to promote healthy turf and control pests.Inspect and repair course equipment, including mowers, aerators, and other machinery, to ensure operational readiness.Assist in landscaping tasks such as planting, pruning, and removal of trees and shrubs to enhance course aesthetics.Monitor course conditions and report any issues such as drainage problems, turf diseases, or damage caused by weather or play.Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute seasonal projects, including aeration, topdressing, and overseeding.Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance facilities and storage areas.Skills:
The required skills such as turf management knowledge and equipment operation are applied daily to maintain the course's playing surfaces and overall condition.
