Position OverviewThis position serves as the full‑time Assistant Coach for the men's and women's golf programs, reporting directly to the Head Golf Coach. The Assistant Coach provides leadership and support in the recruitment, development, and success of student‑athletes.
DUTIESProvide outstanding teaching and skill instruction for a high‑performing NCAA Division III varsity athletic program including the teaching of technical skills, course management, and competitive mindset.Recruit and retain highly talented athletes who also have the academic acumen to thrive at SU.Participate in fundraising activities to support program objectives.Compliance with all university, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and bylaws.Be an outstanding mentor to our students by modeling professionalism and high moral standards.Support classroom excellence by utilizing all available university resources in support of students.Additional DutiesServe as an Administrator in Charge (AIC) of select events during the year.Participate on campus committees as requested.Serve as an instructor for ESS or FRA classes if qualified.Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics or designee.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.Proven experience in teaching, coaching, and the ability to demonstrate proper techniques unique to the sport.CPR and First Aid or a willingness to become certified within three months of hire.Have knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community.Further preferred qualificationsCollegiate or professional playing experience in the sport.Experience in recruiting college‑level varsity athletes.Additional InformationStarting annual salary: $31,000. The final offer for the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience and may exceed the starting annual salary.
