Golf Shop Attendant / Summer Intern

LOCATION: Aspetuck Valley Country Club, Weston, CT DEPARTMENT: Golf Operations JOB TITLE: Golf Shop Attendant / Summer Intern REPORTS TO: Golf Professional COMPENSATION: Hourly Compensation BENEFITS: Meals POSITION OBJECTIVES: This position is responsible for creating an atmosphere of service in the Golf Shop to members and their guests. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Daily interaction with members, guests and staffProvide on floor sales assistance for members and guestsHelp create effective communication and marketing for Golf Shop to Club membersFacilitate and coordinate merchandise/gifts for special events Merchandise all clothing on shop floorAttend to the shop in a manner consistent with expectations from the clubINCIDENTAL DUTIES The above list of essential job functions describes the general nature and level of work being performed in this job. Education and Experience: Previous experience in the Golf Industry – a plusBachelors Degree Preferred Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: Computer literacyBasic Bookkeeping Language and Communication Skills: Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous way with members and staffStrong Interpersonal skills Physical, sensory and motor demands: Ability to be on feet for up to 8 hours per day Ability to lift merchandise boxes (up to 10 lbs)
