About the Role
The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch
For an agronomy professional, Cordillera Ranch offers a unique opportunity to work on a nationally recognized Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in one of the most beautiful and challenging natural environments in Texas. As the southernmost golf course in the United States featuring bentgrass greens, Cordillera Ranch presents a distinctive agronomic challenge and provides an exceptional opportunity to gain experience managing cool-season turfgrass in a demanding Texas climate. The combination of diverse turf types, demanding agronomic standards, dramatic Hill Country terrain, and a club committed to providing an exceptional member experience makes The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch an outstanding place to build a career in golf course maintenance. Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country just outside Boerne, The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch is the centerpiece of the 9,100-acre, master-planned community. Approximately 40 minutes from San Antonio, the community combines the natural beauty of the Hill Country with an exceptional private-club lifestyle, featuring five miles of Guadalupe River frontage, extensive nature trails, abundant native wildlife, and spectacular limestone canyons and rolling terrain. The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch offers an extraordinary collection of amenities, including the Golf Club, River Club, Rod & Gun Club, Equestrian Club, Spa & Athletic Club, Social & Dining Club, Tennis, Pickleball and Swim Club. At the heart of the club is the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, a championship 18-hole, par-72 layout stretching 7,464 yards from the back tees. Opened in 2006, the course was designed around the natural characteristics of the property rather than imposing a traditional golf-course template on the land. Dramatic elevation changes, native vegetation, live oaks, limestone canyon walls, and cascading water features create a golf course that is both visually spectacular and strategically demanding. The course has established itself as one of the premier golf courses in Texas and is routinely recognized as a Top 10 course in the state.
Agronomy Facility & Equipment
The agronomy facility at Cordillera Ranch underwent a significant renovation in late 2025 and is equipped with modern, industry-leading technology and equipment, including John Deere GPS sprayers and FireFly autonomous fairway units.
The renovated facility and updated equipment provide the agronomy team with the resources and technology needed to maintain the golf course to the highest standards.
