The course is scheduled to reopen in Fall 2026 as a private club. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the renovation and grow-in process while helping establish the agronomic standards, team culture, and course presentation that will define the club’s next chapter.The Role Reporting to the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, the Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent provides daily leadership to the Grounds Crew and works closely with the Superintendent, Mechanic Crew, and Golf Operations team.The successful candidate will help oversee the care and presentation of the golf course, practice facilities, and surrounding grounds. This role also supports agronomic planning, staffing, renovation activities, grow-in, and reopening preparations. The Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent must be prepared to assume responsibility for maintenance operations in the Superintendent’s absence.Key Responsibilities Help coordinate daily golf course maintenance activities and crew assignmentsProvide hands‑on leadership, training, and support to Grounds Crew employeesAssist with the renovation, grow‑in, and reopening of the golf courseSupport agronomic programs involving warm‑season turf, irrigation, drainage, fertilization, plant protection, and cultural practicesMonitor course conditions and help maintain exceptional playing surfaces and presentation standardsCoordinate with the Mechanic Crew and Golf Operations team to support efficient daily operationsHelp promote a safe, respectful, accountable, and team‑oriented work environmentAssist with planning, scheduling, recordkeeping, and regulatory complianceServe as a maintenance leader when senior management is unavailableQualificationsAssociate or bachelor’s degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or a related fieldAt least two years of progressive golf course maintenance experiencePrevious experience leading or supervising a maintenance crewWorking knowledge of warm‑season turfgrass management, irrigation systems, drainage, fertilizers, plant‑protection products, and cultural practicesStrong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skillsValid driver’s licenseCommercial pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain oneExperience with golf course construction, renovation, grow‑in, private‑club operations, coastal environments, or course reopening is preferred.Join Our TeamThis is an exceptional opportunity for an emerging turf professional to help shape the future of The King and Prince Golf Club.
