About the position
GCSAA is seeking a seasoned, proactive, detail-oriented professional to serve as a trusted partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This high-impact role requires exceptional judgment, discretion, organization and the ability to anticipate needs before they arise. As the primary point of contact for the CEO's office, you'll play a critical role in supporting executive leadership, coordinating Board and high-level communication, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Executive Office. Success in this role depends as much on building trusted relationships as it does on exceptional organization. You’ll work closely with board members, past presidents, allied organizations, VIPs, and internal leaders while representing the Office of the CEO with professionalism and discretion. This position also plays a key role in delivering an outstanding experience at the annual GCSAA Conference and Trade Show.

Exceptional judgment, discretion and the ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalismAdaptability, resourcefulness, and the ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentOutstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including drafting executive correspondence, presentations, and talking pointsAbility to anticipate needs, proactively solve problems and adapt quickly as priorities evolveProven success building trusted with executives, board members, allied partners and internal teamsAbility to respond to time-sensitive matters outside traditional business hoursMinimum three to five years experience supporting a CEO, C-suite executive, executive leadership team or Board of DirectorsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications or related field, or equivalent professional experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint/Keynote), in an Apple (Mac/iOS) environmentAbility to travel annually to the GCSAA Conference and Trade ShowMust reside within a commutable distance of GCSAA headquarters in Lawrence, KSNice-to-haves
