About the position
We are seeking a professional and service-oriented Starter to join the team at The Seagate Golf Club. This role is responsible for coordinating daily tee times, ensuring smooth pace of play, and creating a welcoming experience for members and guests. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive, and committed to delivering exceptional service while maintaining efficient golf course operations.
Responsibilities
• Greet all members and guests warmly and address members by their last name when possible
• Arrange starting times for daily play and update tee sheets or shotgun sheets as needed
• Maintain clear communication with the Golf Shop and Bag Room regarding tee time updates throughout the day
• Ensure members and guests begin their rounds on time to maintain proper pace of play
• Position yourself near the practice areas to assist members with starting time information and questions
• Ensure members and guests do not load or unload their own golf bags, coordinating with the Bag Room team as needed
• Monitor practice facilities and cart staging areas to ensure they remain organized, clean, and uncongested
• Confirm all guests are properly registered with the Golf Shop and have received the appropriate guest tags
• Collect guest ticket information from members prior to play
• Supervise course monitors and maintain communication to support efficient course flow
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow all operational procedures and service standards
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Previous golf course, country club, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to communicate clearly with members, guests, and team members
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment while maintaining a positive attitude
• Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds, including golf bags and equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, rain, and humidity
