Established in 1908, Fort Wayne Country Club is the premier private golf and social institution in southwest Fort Wayne, Indiana. Set on 355 picturesque acres, the Club is renowned for its classic Scottish-style championship golf course, originally shaped in the 1920s by Chicago designer William Langford and Theodore Moreau, and later updated by Bill Diddel, Bob Lohmann, Arthur Hills, and Rees Jones. The Club’s storied history includes hosting golf legends such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tony Lema. The 40,679-square-foot clubhouse, originally built in 1955, has been renovated and expanded over the decades to support a wide range of social and athletic amenities, including tennis, pickleball, the first outdoor padel court in Indiana, a fitness center, and resort-style swimming. About the Position
The Clubhouse Manager oversees all day-to-day food and beverage operations at Fort Wayne Country Club, partnering closely with other department leaders to ensure a seamless, exceptional member experience. This is a hands-on, service-driven leadership role within a high-expectation private club environment, ideal for a polished, visible leader who is equally comfortable building budgets and walking the floor during a busy banquet weekend.
What You’ll Do
• Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for all food & beverage operations, including budgeting, programming, and service standards
• Hire, train, schedule, and directly supervise the F&B team, fostering a culture of professionalism, hospitality, and accountability
• Maintain uncompromising service standards, ensuring warm, attentive, and anticipatory member service across all dining outlets and events
• Review Banquet Event Orders and tournament write-ups to determine staffing, room assignments, and service plans
• Oversee the Club’s beverage program, including wine and beverage list development and inventory management
• Collaborate with the culinary, event coordinator, and operations teams to execute flawless dining, social, and tournament experiences
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout the Club, serving as the “Face of Food & Beverage” for members and staff alike
What You’ll Bring
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible private club, hotel, or resort F&B/Clubhouse Manager experience at a well-regarded club of similar scale and culture
• A strong track record in food & beverage service, programming, menu design, and member-focused service, with proven success implementing staff training programs
• Strong financial acumen, with the ability to build and manage budgets and expenses effectively
• A visible, humble, and charismatic leader who works effectively at all levels of the organization and is comfortable being on the floor and engaged with members
• Advanced knowledge of wine service and beverage inventory management
• A college degree is preferred; relevant club industry certifications combined with strong professional experience are equally valued
