Experience Required:
Individual should be an active member of the PGA of America or be close to completing this training.
Should have 3-5 years of working at a private facility.
Individual should have some formal training in teaching the game of golf.
A college degree is preferred.
Essential Responsibilities:
This position is open to an enthusiastic, professional individual who can assist the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in all essential functions of the golf operation at an exclusive private club.
* The individual must be aspiring to become a Head Golf Professional.
A person who pays specific attention to detail, while having the ability to multi-task, will be a good fit for our staff and membership.
Responsibilities of the job:
Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection.
Assist with all opening and closing procedures.
Manage the starting of players from the first tee on specific days.
Coordinate with fellow golf professionals to make sure there is enough presence on the golf course to ensure pace of play is maintained.
Create reports for the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional summarizing pace of play over specific periods of time.
Assist in managing facility tournament operations including weekly events.
Assist in tournament operations and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament to do lists, post- tournament billing, promotion, preparation, scoring, prize distribution, and follow up.
Conduct individual lessons, group clinics.
Assist with men’s, women’s, and junior golf events.
Provide club repair and club fitting services to customers.
Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including.
Assist in merchandising duties.
Play golf with a variety of customers in competitive and non-competitive situations.
Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image.
Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments.
Individual should have average typing skills, creative writing skill, proficient in excel and word.
