*Position Overview:**
Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club is seeking a skilled and motivated Head Equipment Manager / Head Mechanic to lead the maintenance and performance of our equipment fleet at our prestigious 27-hole, semi-private, resort-style facility along Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
This position works closely with the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents to support daily operations and ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and at a high standard.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in organization, preventative maintenance, and delivering consistent, high-quality performance.
*Position Highlights:Part of the Thistle Hill portfolio with opportunity for professional growthSupportive leadership structure with collaborative decision-makingOpportunity to take ownership of a well-established equipment operation27-hole high-end facility offering varietyLocated in one of the Gulf Coast’s most desirable coastal communities*Key Responsibilities:Maintain, diagnose, and repair all golf course maintenance equipmentPerform reel setup, grinding, and precision adjustments to ensure consistent, high-quality cutConduct daily inspection of equipment and monitor quality of cut across all playing surfacesEstablish and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environmentImplement and manage a structured preventative maintenance programMaintain accurate service records and parts inventoryCoordinate parts ordering and vendor relationshipsTrain staff on proper equipment operation and careAssist in evaluating and planning equipment replacement and upgradesAdditional responsibilities as assigned by Director of Agronomy*Experience Requirements:Experience working with turf equipment, specifically Toro and John Deere platformsDemonstrated expertise in reel grinding, setup, and adjustmentStrong mechanical aptitude (hydraulic, electrical, and small engines)Welding and fabrication skills are a plusStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility and willingness to take ownership of the equipment operationPositive, team-oriented mindset with pride in workmanship*Job Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceHealth insurance, vision insurance, and dental reimbursement planLife insurance401(k) with company match (dollar-for-dollar up to 4% of gross annual wages)Paid time offGolf privilegesBonus Program
