<p>Elk River Club is a private member owned club in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The club includes an 18 Hole championship golf course which was Jack Nicklaus’s first signature design in North Carolina. Since it opened in 1984, it has remained one of North Carolina's Top Ten Golf Courses and one of the most beautiful courses in the state. Nicklaus' design deliberately integrates with the natural topography and beauty that is characteristic of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The meticulously maintained mountain course winds around the Elk River, shimmering lakes, and tree-lines fairways. Elk River Club is a regional get away where members escape the summer heat and enjoy the ideal temperature for an active lifestyle. Other amenities at the club include tennis, equestrian, pool &amp; fitness, trout fishing and many world class dining facilities. The club season is from approximately May 1st through October 31st each year. The club has 250 members who play an average of 9,000 rounds each season.</p>
