Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
Boulder Ridge Country Club – Lake in the Hills, IL
Boulder Ridge Country Club is seeking a motivated and service-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operation of the Club’s dining, banquet, and beverage services while helping deliver an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, takes pride in providing outstanding service, and is comfortable leading and developing a team.
Responsibilities
Assist the Food & Beverage Manager with the day-to-day operation of dining, banquet, and beverage services.Provide visible, hands-on leadership during service to ensure a consistently high level of member and guest satisfaction.Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and supervising food and beverage team members.Monitor service standards and address member and guest needs promptly and professionally.Support the execution of club events, private functions, tournaments, and other special events.Coordinate with culinary and other club departments to ensure smooth and efficient service.Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, point-of-sale functions, and daily operational reporting.Help maintain appropriate inventory levels for beverages, supplies, and operating equipment.Ensure dining and service areas are clean, organized, properly maintained, and ready for service.Support compliance with food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and other applicable club policies and procedures.Assist with controlling labor and operating costs while maintaining established service standards.Help foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager or Club leadership.
Qualifications
Previous food and beverage, restaurant, country club, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to lead by example and work effectively alongside the team during service.Strong organizational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic food and beverage operations preferred.Knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service practices preferred.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.
