Debary Country Club, a semi-private club on the north side of Orlando established in 1991, is seeking a highly dedicated and qualified individual to join our exceptional team as the Lead Assistant Superintendent. Our golf course underwent significant upgrades, including the conversion of greens to Tifeagle in 2015 and complete bunker renovations in 2025. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of golf course maintenance, with the ability to oversee operations in the absence of the Superintendent. As a working assistant role, responsibilities include hands-on leadership of the crew, collaboration with irrigation and spray technicians, conducting daily course observations, and ensuring optimal playing conditions. The Assistant Superintendent will play a pivotal role in team management, with on-call duties every third weekend and occasional overtime when necessary.
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred 2+ years of golf course maintenance experience Ability to obtain Florida pesticide applicator license within 6 months Ability to obtain Florida BMP certification Strong communication and leadership skills Knowledge of irrigation systems and modern agronomic practices Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous learning Willingness to work early mornings, holidays, and every third weekend.
