About the Role
Job Summary DeerTrak Golf Club is looking for a motivated, high-energy individual eager to break into the golf and hospitality industry. If you have recently finished school, are looking for a career change, or simply want to see if the golf business is the right fit for you, this immersive role is designed for you.
Working directly under management, you will learn the business from the ground up and understand every aspect of the golf shop and clubhouse operations. Bridging the gap between Golf Operations and Food & Beverage service, you will learn to run the "Command Center" of our facility. From mastering daily opening setups to supporting staff and monitoring the course, you will gain hands-on experience in what it takes to run a successful golf facility.
Please note: This is a full-season role. We are specifically seeking a candidate who can commit to remaining on the schedule through the end of October.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations: Execute fundamental opening and closing procedures for the golf shop and clubhouse, ensuring the facility is prepared for daily traffic and general maintenance needs are met.
Tee Sheet & Course Management: Train on our digital booking systems to manage high-volume phone inquiries and guest check-ins. Monitor course activity and track the pace of play to ensure a smooth experience for all golfers.
Staff Leadership: Assist management in guiding our seasonal staff (cart attendants, servers, etc.), helping to cultivate a positive team environment and uphold high club standards.
Food & Beverage Cross-Training: Gain hands-on experience with daily bar and grill operations, including "the turn" service, basic food prep, and bartending, learning exactly how F&B drives clubhouse revenue.
Inventory Control: Work alongside management to track, monitor, and restock beverage, kitchen, and pro shop supplies to keep the facility "tournament ready."
Event & League Coordination: Act as a supporting contact for league secretaries, learning the logistics of weekly scoring, event setup, and post-round hospitality.
Qualifications
Industry Entry Focus: No extensive management history is required. This role is the perfect stepping stone for recent graduates or career-changers. All we require is a strong passion for the golf or hospitality industry and a deep eagerness to learn the business from the inside out.
Command Center Potential: Basic tech-savviness with a readiness to master our digital tee sheet and multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced environment.
Hospitality Versatility: A team-player mentality with the ability to pivot instantly from the pro shop counter to the grill or bar during a rush.
Adaptability & Drive: A willingness to learn basic food prep and bartending alongside the operational mechanics of running a clubhouse.
Reliability & Full-Season Commitment: Must be available for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, with the explicit ability to remain on staff through the end of October.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
Career Growth: Unmatched, hands-on mentorship in General Management, Golf Operations, and Hospitality to help you build your resume.
Free Golf: Complimentary golf privileges and practice range access.
Clubhouse Perks: Deep employee discounts on food, beverages, and merchandise.
