The Golf Course Maintenance Laborer is a full-time seasonal team member responsible for assisting in the daily maintenance and care of The Pepper Pike Club’s championship golf course and surrounding grounds. This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional course conditions that reflect the Club’s commitment to excellence and outstanding member experiences.
This position requires early-morning availability, physical stamina, attention to detail, and a positive, team-first attitude.
Employment Classification
• Seasonal, Full-Time
• Non-Exempt / Hourly
• Overtime eligible as applicable
Reporting Relationship
• Reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Mow greens, tees, fairways, rough, and other turf areas as assigned
• Rake and maintain bunkers
• Operate hand-held equipment, including string trimmers, blowers, and hedge trimmers
• Assist with course setup, including changing cups and tee markers
• Perform divot repair and ball mark repair
• Assist with irrigation repair and watering as needed
• Maintain landscaping beds and surrounding grounds
• Remove debris and maintain the cleanliness of maintenance areas
• Follow daily work assignments and safety guidelines
• Support special projects, including aerification, overseeding, and course improvements
• Work efficiently to prepare the course for daily member play and special events
Qualifications
• Prior golf course or landscaping experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor
• Must be able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate golf course maintenance equipment safely
• Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions
Work Schedule
• Typical start times are between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
• Weekends and holidays are required during the golf season
• Overtime may be required during peak season or tournament preparation
