Golf Instructor - Head Coach

JOB Howard County Department of Recreation & Parks is hiring staff for youth and adult golf lessons and summer camps, located at Timbers of Troy Golf Course. We are currently seeking a head coach for spring/summer classes and summer camps. Spring classes will run weekday afternoons/early evenings and weekends starting in mid-April. Summer classes will run weekday afternoons/early evenings and weekends starting at the end of June. Summer camps will run Monday-Wednesday mornings starting in mid-June through July.If you are applying for the Head Coach position, you must be at least 18 years of age, salary $16-$32/hr. depending on experience and certifications. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES DUTIES: Teach, organize, and supervise participants in the teaching of golf skills.Prepare site every day to ensure safety.Responsible for keeping attendance records and necessary paperwork onsite.Notify students of canceled classes.Arrange for make-ups due to cancelations.Provide drills for players to practice on their own between sessions.Keep in contact with HCRP staff to update class lists and/or to verify late registrants.Maintain friendly, positive communication with participants and parents.Responsible for the safety and general welfare of the program and participants.Complete and submit accident and incident reports to the program supervisor in a timely manner.Appraise player skill levels at the end of the session.Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the program supervisor.
