About the Role
Overview
Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is a collection of 468 holes of championship golf on 11 sites across Alabama. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is managed by Sunbelt Golf Corporation. Sunbelt's philosophy from the very beginning was to build the finest collection of public golf courses in the world and run them as a successful business investment.
Grand National, by all reports, was the single greatest site for a golf complex Robert Trent Jones, Sr. had ever seen. Built on 600-acre Lake Saugahatchee, 32 of the 54 holes drape along its filigreed shores. Both the Links course and the Lake course were in the top 10 of Golf Digest's list of "America's Top 50 Affordable Courses" and all three courses at Grand National are listed among the nation's 40 Super Value courses by Golf Digest's "Places to Play".
Grand National is the home course for Auburn University golf teams. Major tournaments played there have included the Nike Tour Championship, Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tournament of Champions, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Championship, and the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Barbasol Championship (2015-2017). These tournaments were broadcast by television and showcased Opelika and Auburn to millions of national and international viewers, furthering RSA's goal to promote the state of Alabama.
