About the Role
JOB SUMMARY
The Golf Cart Attendant performs work involving the operation, care, and maintenance of the golf cart fleet at West Pines Golf Club. This individual is also responsible for the work necessary to operate the driving range. The Golf Cart Attendant also assists in all maintenance procedures as directed by either the Golf Professional or the Cart Operations Team Lead.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Assists in all work performed in and around the cart storage building and driving range area, including maintaining organization, security, and operational readiness of these facilities during golf operating hours.
• Prepares golf cars for daily use by cleaning, parking, charging, and stocking carts with required supplies, ensuring carts are staged and available for customers in a timely manner.
• Assists with regular maintenance procedures for golf cars, including checking tire air pressure, maintaining appropriate battery water levels, and performing minor repairs; may also assist with equipment upkeep such as ball washers, pressure washers, range pickers, and beverage carts, and coordinate with other departments for major repairs as directed.
• Performs regular driving range operations, including picking range balls using mechanical equipment and by hand in surrounding areas, cleaning and bagging balls, and setting up the range for daily fee play or tournament operations; ensures range balls are stocked for customer use and stored appropriately.
• Keeps work areas neat, orderly, and free of safety hazards, including emptying trash receptacles, replacing liners, securing facilities after hours, and maintaining overall cleanliness of assigned areas.
• Provides on-course assistance to customers as needed, such as responding to cart malfunctions, exchanging carts, or towing disabled carts, in order to support uninterrupted play and customer service.
• Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent; and one (1) year work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, standard operating practices for golf car fleet, beverage utility cart, and driving range utility cart;
• Ability to use simple hand tools;
• Ability to follow written and/or verbal job assignments and/or crew assignments;
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis;
• Ability to exert continuous physical effort including frequent bending, walking, manipulating, and heavy lifting of equipment.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work requires light to moderate heavy physical effort and involves balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, and stooping; frequent standing and walking; lifting, pushing, and pulling; reaching and repetitive motion; grasping, handling, fingering, and feeling; and the ability to hear, speak, talk, and maintain visual and mental acuity to safely perform assigned duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed in outdoor and semi-enclosed operational areas around golf course facilities and cart storage locations and involves working in proximity to moving golf carts, range equipment, and other machinery that may pose a risk of bodily harm to the incumbent, co-workers, or others if not handled properly.
