About the Role
Our client, a premier golf resort in the heart of Los Angeles, California , is seeking an experienced and charismatic Director of Golf Operations. This comprehensive role encompasses the overall management of all golf-related activities, ensuring an exceptional experience for members and guests. You will oversee the golf course, clubhouse operations, retail pro shop, food and beverage outlets within the golf complex, and tournament coordination. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of golf industry best practices, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering world-class service.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the golf course, including course maintenance, agronomy, and play management, in coordination with the Head Superintendent. Manage the golf professional staff, including Head Golf Professionals, Assistant Professionals, and caddies, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Direct the operations of the pro shop, including inventory management, merchandising, sales, and customer service. Develop and execute a comprehensive tournament and event schedule, including member events, outside tournaments, and charity fundraisers. Manage the food and beverage operations within the golf clubhouse, ensuring high-quality service and product offerings. Develop and manage the annual budget for all golf operations, ensuring profitability and cost control. Implement and enforce club policies and procedures related to golf operations. Maintain high standards of course conditions, playability, and golfer satisfaction. Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to attract new members and guests and increase revenue. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to hospitality and recreation. Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations to enhance the golfer experience and operational efficiency. Foster a positive and professional work environment for all golf operations staff. This role requires a proven leader with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. A strong business acumen and a passion for the game of golf are essential. You will be the face of our golf operations, responsible for creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for every individual who engages with our facility.
