Position Summary:
As a Carlo’s Bakery Retail Associate, your role is to ensure a positive customer experience by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Arrive to work promptly and in full uniform on your scheduled days to workMake sure customers are being taken care of and the store looks great at all timesTreat each customer with kindness and respect at all timesEnsure that product being sold is fresh and presentableEnsure product quality by checking freshness, rotating products, and removing out-of-date productsBe an expert in our products and be able to explain them to customersPackage, weight, and price all baked goods & merchandiseAsk every customer if they would like to receive a receipt with their purchase and add their name to our customer databaseFollow our cash handling procedures when using the POS to process customer ordersFollow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practicesEnsure that all shelves and displays are properly stocked and front-facingMaintain back stock in good orderOperate and sanitize all Bakery equipment in a safe and proper mannerAnswer telephone calls with excellent phone etiquette and transfer the call according to appropriate departmentCleaning should be done at the end of your shift and when the storefront is slowMaintain open communication with your supervisor and coworkers regarding any issues that may arisePerform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent is requiredExperience in a similar customer focused work environment is preferredAbility to work well in a busy environmentHigh energy and engaging personalityProfessional demeanorAbility to work on your feet for extended periods of time (8+ hours a day)Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays (according to customer demand)(NY locations only) Food Protection Manager Certificate holder or willing to obtain certification within 30 days of employment(NJ locations only) SERV safe Food Handler Certificate holder or willing to obtain certification within 30 days of employmentA passion for cake!
