2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent Destination by Hyatt Wild Dunes Resort US - SC - Isle of Palms Golf and Recreation Entry Level Manager Full-time Hourly US Dollar (USD) pay basis Summary SUMMARY: The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course. Supervises the staff and performs related work. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards. They shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times: exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture and promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice Essential job FUNCTIONS Day to day management and supervision of greens keeping staff Fulfill the range of duties of an equipment operator/greens keeper Train staff Irrigation design, installation and repair Drainage design, installation and repair Manage the use of chemicals and fertilizers Apply and supervise application of chemicals and fertilizer Assist in personnel management and evaluation, to include, but not limited to: colleague safety and safety training, personnel discipline, assign personnel duties, motivate and appraise staff Maintain an acceptable grooming and uniform appearance Consistently acting as a role model for all Wild Dunes Colleagues The colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned. Our Values Empathy | Integrity | Respect | Inclusion | Experimentation | Wellbeing Qualifications EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION High school education or equivalent required Experience in golf course maintenance required Degree in Turf Management preferred Management/supervisory experience preferred Job REQUIRMENTS Must be authorized to work in the United States Must have a valid driver license and meet company driving standards Must be able to read, write and speak English Must have a strong technical gasoline and diesel engine background Must have the required tools of the trade Must have excellent mechanical understanding and ability Working CONDITIONS Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day, occasionally on uneven surfaces Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs and very occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel and twist on an frequent basis, sometimes for prolonged periods Must be able to perform simple grasping, squeezing, fine manipulation and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently; overhead reaching occasionally.
