About the Role
Overview
Essential Functions:
• Oversee all inside & outside golf operations including but not limited to Golf Shop, Bag Drop, Cart Barn, Golf Carts & Driving Range.
• Working shifts at the Pro Shop Counter (Answering Phones, Checking Golfers In, Customer Service Inquiries).
• Enforce club policies on outside Food & Beverage with arriving guests.
• Assist with performing and overseeing all opening and closing procedures for the entire front of house golf operation.
• Oversee cart barn and bag drop area and maintain organization and cleanliness of the area and the surrounding grounds. Maintain a neat, clean, organized & safe work environment.
• Holding outside staff accountable and making sure golf carts are cleaned daily and are presentable for customer use.
• Holding outside staff responsible for a weekly deep clean of golf carts. Please note that the entire fleet does not need to be done at once. We can have carts on a rotating schedule so they all eventually get the deep clean within a manageable and agreed upon timeframe.
• Tournament and outing operations.
• Golf outing setup and be on site from start to finish for all golf events.
• Keeping the golf shop clean and orderly. Move merchandise around regularly to keep the shop looking and feeling fresh.
• Assist in managing the club handicapping system. This includes reconciling player list with the club accountant and adding new customers to the system after purchase of GHIN memberships are made in the golf shop.
• Assist in managing the Loyalty Club Program. This includes reconciling player list with the club accountant and adding new customers to the system after enrolling in the program.
• Responsible for maintaining course advertising that will be found in the cart placards of all carts. These materials will be discussed and created by collaboration between yourself and the General Manager. The cart placards should never be empty and should always have some sort of advertising found in them.
• Act as a role model and leader for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require a high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Be responsive to guests’ by communicating their needs and issues to the appropriate departments and managers in a prompt and courteous manner. Never blow off a customer's concerns even if they are wrong.
• Maintaining an open communication with the General Manager and Director of Golf.
• Assist with any additional daily golf operations as directed by the General Manager and Director of Golf
• Hosting monthly staff meetings to go over job descriptions with new employees and to address any other issues
• Ability to bend and lift objects of different weights whether assisted or unassisted
• Assist Director of Food & Beverage with event set up and utilize outside golf staff to help with time permits during downtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
