REPORTS TO: GOLF PROFESSIONALS, PRO SHOP MANAGER, OR DIRECTOR OF GOLF
CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT (RECOMMEND REVIEWING – THIS ROLE IS TYPICALLY NON-EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Player’s Assistant plays a key role in enhancing the on-course guest experience across all five Shanty Creek golf courses: The Legend, Cedar River, Schuss Mountain, Summit, and Hawk’s Eye. This position focuses on guest service, safety, and pace-of-play support by serving as a friendly and approachable ambassador on the course.
Using Shanty Creek’s Four Degrees of Engagement framework, the Player’s Assistant ensures a positive and respectful environment for all players while supporting smooth course operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promote a welcoming, helpful, and respectful environment for all guests
• Greet players and offer assistance throughout their round
• Monitor and support pace of play using the Four Degrees of Engagement:
• Observe and Greet
• Inform and Encourage
• Coach and Redirect
• Involve Management (as needed)
• Address pace-of-play and course etiquette concerns with professionalism
• Conduct regular course patrols to ensure safety and cleanliness
• Identify and report hazards, incidents, or unusual activity
• Support golf operations during peak times, tournaments, and events
• Encourage efficient play while maintaining an enjoyable guest experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a golf cart safely
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience in golf operations or customer service
• Basic knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and terminology
• Experience in a resort or recreational environment
